Cork is Ireland's third city and has always been an important seaport. Today the River Lee flows through the city in two main channels, so that you find yourself constantly crossing bridges. Some of the main streets are built over channels where ships nuzzled their anchor chains a century ago. The best way to see what the city has to offer is to go by foot.
Located in the Southwest of Ireland, it is Ireland's largest county, in the munster region of Ireland and contains the island's third largest city, Cork City. Much of County Cork is dominated by the Atlantic Ocean. Visitor attractions in County Cork include The Old Midleton Distillery, Blarney Castle, the Beamish and Crawford Brewery, Fota Wildlife Park, and Bantry House and Gardens. Cork is easily accessible from the rest of Ireland and by ferry and plane. Popular places to stay outside of Cork City but in County Cork are Youghal, Kinsale, Schull, Bandon, Bantry, Skibbereen and Blarney.
Cork Airport is Ireland's third international airport, with services to the UK and Europe. Regular rail services serve Kerry, Limerick, Dublin and beyond. There are bus routes to much of the country also
